Four passengers killed in helicopter collision over Australian beach

One helicopter appeared to be taking off and another landing as they collided near the Sea World theme park in Main Beach, the northern beach on the Gold Coast, Gary Worrell, acting Inspector of the Queensland State Police, told a press conference.

One helicopter landed safely on a sandbar, while the wreckage of another was scattered across an area that police described as difficult to access.

All of the dead and the three most seriously injured were passengers in the crashed helicopter.
