For example, I did not even imagine before this photo, how oily padded jackets can be! Please note that one one of the guys also smokes! What if it lights up? Well, the lower one with the key and in Budyonnovka is generally irresistible!

03. Fire brigade of the Locomotive Plant named after. Dzerzhinsky, Murom, 1930s.
We see the fire brigade in helmets, but among the participants there is a photo you can also consider a man in uniform, a little boy and several workers. Among them there is a future pilot and a Hero of the Soviet Union Nicholas Gastello. Before being drafted into the Red Army, he worked as a mechanic at the factory.
04. Group photo of Uralmash workers during the Great Patriotic War
You can clearly see how young most of the participants are photographs, as well as a brand new "self-propelled gun" made in excess of the plan for compatriot warriors.
The next 3 photos will be devoted to the work of miners. Because, in my opinion, this is one of the most physically difficult and harmful professions on earth.
05. Miners returning from the mine. Province of Limburg, Holland, 1946.
The contrast of white-toothed smiles and faces smeared with coal dust is simply amazing!
06. Young British miners before the start of the shift in the mine
In the summer of 1943 in the UK for the military 56 thousand miners were called up for service, and young people took their place. Including these 14-year-olds.
07. A group of Soviet forced laborers at the Adolf von Hansemann mine near Dortmund, 1943.
It is difficult to guess the miners in this picture. No helmets or overalls. But in the background you can see a fence with barbed wire. Germans these unfortunates were called Ostarbeiters.
08. Canadian lumberjacks on log jams on the Bull River. British Columbia, 1910-1914
An epic scale photo, do you agree? Something clearly went wrong So, a "cork" was formed and now the guys have to deal with it. The work, by the way, was very dangerous. Awkward move, slipped in water between huge logs and hello. It is reported that many of them died. So it goes.
