The girl defeated anorexia with the help of powerlifting (4 photos)
Eva Fife battled her anorexia by powerlifting. Now the 18-year-old call center employee is healthy and can lift almost twice its weight.
She hit rock bottom when her parents divorced, which caused depression and anxiety.
She harmed herself and developed an eating disorder when she became obsessed with the way she looked.
But, realizing that her condition is affecting her family, Eva started going to the gym, where the coach asked her to try powerlifting.
Now she trains five times a week and eats right.
Eva from Wallsend, North Tyneside, is now getting ready for her the first competition in which she aims to lift 115 kg in just one deadlift - almost twice her own weight of 60 kg.
Gym boss Richie Gangel who runs Alpha Gym, in Benton, North Tyneside, where Eva trains, said: “The difference we saw in her is incredible.”
