In Brazil, the face of Zuzu, a man who lived 9.6 thousand years ago, was restored (2 photos + 1 video)
His remains still cause heated debate in the scientific world. 
The researchers took dozens of photos from different angles skull on display at the Museum of Natural History in Paraná, Brazil. Using photogrammetry, scientists digitally connected 57 photographs to create a virtual 3D model of the skull.
According to study co-author Cicero Moraes, a Brazilian graphics expert, the experts used data on the structure of faces modern inhabitants of Brazil, computed tomography (CT) and markers fabric thickness to recreate the appearance of an ancient person. Judging by everything, he had a wide nose and big lips.
In total, the researchers created two portraits of Zuzu. In one photo, he has hairline, and in the other, he does not.
In 1997, scientists discovered a skeleton buried in a pose embryo at an archaeological site in Toca dos Coqueiros, Brazil. For several years, experts have studied the remains from the national park Serra da Capivara. Based on the size and shape of the skull, they identified them as female and named the skeleton Zuzu. 
The researchers created two approximations of Zuzu's face using skull photogrammetry.
However, this classification is still controversial, and many researchers claim that the skeleton belonged to a man. New an approximation of the face of a 9,600-year-old skull would put an end to these disputes.
