Albanian government spokeswoman arrested for transporting 58 kg of marijuana (4 photos)

On December 29, on the border of Albania with North Macedonia, they arrested Director of Information Technology of the Albanian State news agency (AKSH), 28-year-old Erisa Fero. Woman used her government ID to smuggle 58 kilograms of marijuana through checkpoints.





Albanian police said that Erisa Fero used her official position for the smuggling of prohibited substances. Together with the representative of the authorities detained her accomplices, Fero's partner 30-year-old Leke Basha and 17-year-old Andri Karaj. According to police information, to the other side of the border, they were supposed to hand over the illegal cargo to two connected, but they have not yet been tracked down and caught.

Local media report that those arrested are suspected of having links with organized crime groups.

Erisa Fero has already been dismissed from her public position. Investigation, carried out by the Korça Police and the Pogradec Prosecutor's Office, showed that she served as a courier in this criminal group. fero evaded police patrols by presenting documents as an employee various ministries of the country, and as a result easily passed checkpoints.



The drugs were bought in Shkodra and then taken to Tyrant. The trinity was taking them from Tirana to Pogradec, from where they were supposed to get to Macedonia for sale. Karaj and Basha rode in the car in front, checking possible police movements. Erisa Fero followed them, and in her car were 58 kilograms of marijuana.

According to the police, in the past, Erisa Fero has already used her official position to avoid scrutiny, but this time her plan is not worked.

According to the Albanian publication Gazeta Sot, Fero told the officers, that they do not have the right to check the car of the ministry, but it was "detained by force" and charged with drug trafficking.



This is not the first scandal that Eris Fero has been involved in. During parliamentary elections 2021 Central Electoral Commission (CEC) reported possible vote-rigging during Fero's work on Socialist Party. Despite accusations, no action was not undertaken, and after the victory of the party of Eris Fero received government position.
