Buick Blackhawk is an outstanding example of how individual parts can achieve incredible things. This is a custom car which has both historical and aesthetic significance.
The Blackhawk is a four-seater convertible with a retractable top and body in the style of the 30s or 40s. The front grill presents a classic 1939 Buick grille that has a pattern of thin vertical rods. Based on a 1948 Buick Roadmasters.
In a sense, it was. Concept car manager Buick Michael Doble has been responsible for the creation of Buick for the last 15 years. Basically, his Buick concepts were built to lead the major car dealerships in America. But Blackhawk was created to fill another need - one that he perceived when he attended hot rods show, and caught the enthusiasm of their crowd.

The designers used the 1939 grille because it is one of the most significant elements in Buick's history. These vertical stripes are allusions to the grilles that became a hallmark of Buick in the 40s and early 50s. Many of the Blackhawk's main components are hand-crafted, such as frame, unique carbon fiber roof and retractable system, which lowers the top into the trunk (leaving a small luggage zone).
