This rare 1972 Datsun 240Z "Super Samuri" is up for sale (32 photos)

It's a Datsun 240Z "Super Samuri" and if you've never heard of this model before, this may be due to what was released only 77 copies, all in Britain, and only 40 or so survived to the present day.

This is part of the Super Samuri series, which included 77 cars, one of three coupes with left-hand drive and the only one with an automatic transmission gears. The Super Samuri package for the Datsun 240Z was developed by the British entrepreneur Spike Andersen against the backdrop of the sporting success of the model in the first half of the 1970s. The word Samuri in the name of the line should mean "Samurai", but intentionally misspelled: Samurai's trademark Britain already existed at that time.





The customer of this particular car was then known British race car driver Winston "Vin" Percy, so the specifications of the sports car customized to his needs. So the coupe received a 2.8-liter engine with new cylinder head and alternative carburetors, developing 190 hp, adjustable racing suspension and powerful brakes Wilwood.
