Vietnamese tamed a whole river of fish (4 photos + 1 video)

A Vietnamese man rose to fame in his native An Giang province caring for the thousands of wild river fish that come every day to him home while waiting for food.

Muoi Phuc's house in Long Kien, in the Mekong Delta, has become attraction for both locals and tourists. People regularly come to see how a man feeds a flock of wild fish, who visit it every day. When a 52-year-old man began to feed fish, only a few pangasius sailed to it, but over the last two years, their number has grown every day, and now thousands of fish swim circles at his house by the river every day to eat. Fish come to him of their own accord. Others also tried to attract them, throwing food into the river, but for some reason they only stop at Muoi Fuca's house.

Vietnamese duck farmer's life changed in Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year) 2020. He remembers this day like it was yesterday. His wife and children were away and he went into the house to cook some rice to take to grandma and grandpa for Theta. While he was cooking rice, he looked out the window and noticed some fish, who jumped to the surface of the river with their mouths open, as if begging for food.

Muoi Phuc took a handful of duck food and threw it into the river. Then he went back to his business, not thinking about the hungry fish. But the next the next day he noticed the fish again and threw some food at them again. Since then they visit him every day and each time bring new friends with them.

About a dozen pangasius who first stopped at the house of Muoi Fook more than two years ago, the school of fish grew to several thousand (according to some estimates up to tens of thousands). It has different types of fish such as halibut, catfish, snakehead and even the aggressive white pompano. No one knows, where do the fish come from and why did they choose Muoy's house out of thousands of others in Mekong delta. At first, Muoy Fook used several packages of food to fish a month, but now the school of fish has grown so large that it needs tons of food a month to feed them. It's pretty hard on him so often he throws them spoiled fruits and vegetables, donated by local farmers who seem to like the fish just as much.

Tourists usually come to Muoy Fuca's house to see with their own eyes see a giant school of fish, but unfortunately they are not the only ones stops here. Every night, dozens of fishing boats come to Muoy Fuka's house and throw nets in the hope of catching a giant joint, but so far the fish have managed to avoid them. However, Muoi and his father stay up often to make sure no one gets hurt fish.

“Many people know that there are fish here, so they enjoy our absence to hunt down and cast nets,” said Muoi Dantry. - Every time we see her being caught, my father and I beg them not to do so. I don't know what else to do with them."
