NASA has denied traces of the existence of life on Venus (3 photos)
Whether there is life on Mars is a debatable question. Only one thing is clear - traces of life on Venus were left by people.
A few years ago, scientists were excited by the discovery, experts Cardiff and Massachusetts Institute of Technology found in atmosphere of Venus, a substance that is a sign of the existence of living organisms.
Two years later, it is safe to say that the researchers could detect a phosphine signal from terrestrial sources. Thereby NASA denied the 2020 discovery.
Phosphine is a colorless toxic gas of biological origin. On Earth, it is produced by anaerobic microorganisms.
Considering that even if the gas was actually produced initially on the planet, it could be a non-biological method unknown to scientists.
German and American researchers decided to double-check data obtained by colleagues using the stratospheric observatory IR Astronomy - SOFIA.
Scientists have collected spectroscopic indicators in the far infrared range at an altitude of 75-110 kilometers above the surface Venus.
The result was an unambiguous conclusion: the initial indicators did not were confirmed, in the atmosphere of Venus, if there are traces of gas, then they minimal and do not confirm the theory of the existence of life on the planet.
