Thomas Saltsman is co-founder of the Boston architectural firm Saltsman & Brenzel.
On the company's website, Tom describes himself as "a sculptor, lover of bonsai and an excellent master in woodworking. The male spent his childhood designing and renovating their family home along with by his father. In addition, Saltsman is a graduate of the California Institute Arts, Parsons School of Design, Master of Architecture Graduate School of Design at Harvard University.
Every Halloween Saltsman designs and makes with his own hands a large-scale multimedia project to entertain children and neighbors. "These special projects are made mainly from discarded materials with construction site, found objects and non-standard parts,” he writes. Tom started these projects 19 years ago when his children studied in the lower grades.

Of course, the creation of such large-scale figures takes a lot of time, so work starts in August. Then, in mid-September, Tom puts the pieces together with the help of a local team of volunteers.
Saltsman's work was widely recognized not only in Boston, but even in China, where the locals noted the dragon installation. Tom's annual installations have become a favorite Halloween entertainment for local community.
