In India, monkeys have always been highly valued - they are looked after, feed, respect their space and even honor in rituals. But the inhabitants Uply, a small village in the Indian state of Maharashtra, went further. They are respect the local population of monkeys so much that they registered them earth. In a village of 1,600 people, there are about 100 Bengal monkeys (or rhesus monkeys), and for these animals officially allocated 13 hectares of land. For comparison - the size of one football the field is approximately 0.7 hectares. 
The head of the village, Bappa Padwal, confirmed this fact: "That this the territory of 13 hectares belongs to monkeys, it is clearly stated in official documents. However, it is not known who created this position and when it was done. Now almost 100 monkeys live in the village. FROM their numbers dwindle over the years because they do not stay long one place." 
By the way, a couple of years ago in the village of Upla there was another the situation with the monkeys - they endlessly terrorized the locals. Then hundreds of macaques terrorized the local population, stole food from people, unceremoniously entered houses and even attacked some residents. Monkeys moved in large groups, and even harmed the crops of local farmers. Fortunately, this "wave" of monkey chaos is safely ended, and the primates moved to other places.
