I broke a tire and was very surprised when I took it off (3 photos)
The author of this post writes that he was leaving the parking lot from work when he heard a loud bang. After driving just a couple more meters, it became clear that the tire was flat. I got out of the car, saw a broken tire, locked the car and went home by public transport so as not to have to change the tire at night. The next day, with renewed vigor, I jacked up the car, removed the wheel and was very surprised.
Almost the entire inside of the wheel was torn to shreds.
As it turned out, the culprit was a tired suspension spring. A piece broke off from it, and the spring itself ripped open the tire.
It's good that this didn't happen at speed in the city or on the highway.
