About two thousand rescued dogs from different regions of the country live in one of the Chinese shelters at a time. But a dog named Harriet could rightfully be considered the most unfortunate husky in the world, because she always sat in the same corner. The dog was so depressed and indifferent to everything that was happening that the staff of the animal protection organization immediately turned their attention to it.

Animal rescue organization SHS visited a facility in Harbin, China, where approximately 2,000 rescued dogs live. But Harriet stood out from everyone - while the other dogs barked and joyfully greeted the employees, she sat motionless in the corner.

All the wards came here for various reasons - they were either picked up on the street, or rescued from a truck on the way to slaughter. The woman who owns the property allows SHS to come and examine the dogs. They usually take in those animals that are in poor condition. This time it was poor Harriet.

When the rescuers examined Harriet, they were horrified - she was so emaciated that bones were sticking out, and the dog’s matted fur was covered in terrible tangles. Finally feeling safe, Harriet calmly lay down in the arms of one of the rescuers.

"We thought she was a young puppy based on her size," one employee said. "But the vet checked her teeth and estimated she was about 8 months old. She was so malnourished that it was affecting her growth."

Fortunately, Harriet did not suffer from any serious medical problems. The team carefully shaved off her matted fur - according to the staff, Harriet endured the procedure completely calmly. The dog was then taken to a rescue center, where she stayed for about two months.

As Harriet recovered and grew older, she was ready for the most important journey of her life.

A woman named Rosie from Canada saw a photo of the dog on the center's website and immediately fell in love with her. Together with a volunteer, the husky flew to its new owner!

“As soon as I saw her, I felt that she was mine. She looked so sad, and I wanted to do everything possible to make this dog happy!” says the girl. “Since I got her, we We went on trips, we flew together, she went to Lake Louise in Canada... She is my princess."

Along with her new life, she got a new nickname - Bailey.

This girl had to go through a lot, but despite everything, she remained a cheerful and energetic dog, and did not forget how to trust people. Bailey has a mistress who dotes on her, and she is happy to reciprocate her love in double size!
