A life-size replica of the legendary ship Titanic is being built at a new amusement park in the southwestern Chinese city of Suning. The work, estimated to cost approximately $150 million, is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. The creators promise that every detail of the replica of the legendary liner will correspond to the original - from the design of the cabins to the menu in the restaurant.

Construction of a life-size replica of the legendary Titanic is in full swing in Sichuan province in southwest China. The approximately $150 million project is due to be completed by the end of 2017, after which it will open to the public. They will be able to sit in a 1st class cabin and try the lunch that was served to the passengers of the Titanic. A replica of the liner that sank in 1912, killing 1,500 people, will be part of a grand new amusement park in Sichuan.

According to the builders, the ship is now approximately half complete. Six of the nine decks have already been built.

Builders work day and night to complete the project within the tight time frame given to them.

The Romandisi company, the author of the project, initially wanted to arrange for visitors a simulation of a collision with an iceberg, depicting it using modern virtual reality technologies. However, investors abandoned the idea after relatives of those killed on the Titanic, as well as surviving passengers and their relatives, called the idea “unethical.”

The creators of the replica exactly repeated all the dimensions of the legendary Titanic. The attraction ship is 269 meters long and 28 meters wide. After construction is completed, it will be left in an eternal parking lot on the banks of the Dayin Ki River near the city of Suning.

Titanic will be part of the Romantic Mediterranean section of the new amusement park, which will be called the Seven Stars Romandisi International Cultural and Tourism Complex. The creators assure that everything on the legendary liner - from the decor in the cabins to the restaurant menu - will be completely consistent with the original.

The creators are confident that many, many Chinese will want to feel like a passenger on the Titanic. And this is not surprising: the famous film starring Leonardo DiCaprio has long become a cult favorite in China.

A spokesman for the park's management said they strive to create a place that will awaken emotions in people around the world. In his opinion, the Titanic theme will be able to "satisfy the spiritual needs" of visitors, and will also serve as a reminder of how the passengers of the Titanic helped each other in the face of disaster.

The park is due to open to the public in 2019. According to the director of the development company, in addition to a copy of the Titanic, there will be the world's largest man-made beach, open all year round and open 24 hours a day, hot springs and a yacht mooring. The super-resort hotels will be able to accommodate from 4 to 5 thousand people.

However, not everyone believes that the idea of restoring the Titanic was worthy of implementation. Many people call it "bad taste."

However, developers do not pay attention to the skeptics. In their opinion, the attraction will be very popular in any case, because the Chinese simply adore the film "Titanic", filmed in 1997.

According to preliminary information, guests will pay from $400 (for a place in a regular cabin) to $15,000 (for a place in a first class cabin) per night on the Titanic.

Of course, passengers will also have access to an entertainment program in the style of the early 20th century, including balls, pool parties and show programs in the style of Las Vegas of that era.

For those who have seen the famous film "Titanic", the ship's interiors will seem familiar - after all, its creators also sought to follow historical truth. After all construction and finishing work, the Titanic replica will approximately open to guests by 2019.
