In Poland, a child was born 55 days after the death of his mother
A child was born in a Polish hospital in the city of Wroclaw, whose mother died 55 days before his birth.
As Nowa Trybuna Opolska reports, doctors declared brain death in a 41-year-old woman with cancer when she was 17 weeks pregnant.
Since the woman’s heart continued to beat, doctors decided to fight for the child’s life using modern medical equipment.
Doctors managed to maintain the mother's vital functions for almost two months, after which they performed a caesarean section.
The child was born weighing about a kilogram, so he needed intensive care.
Two months later the baby was discharged. Now he is completely healthy and weighs more than 3 kilograms, and his father devotes himself to raising the child.
