VAZ 2108 “Shark” - a tuning project of two brothers: Andranik and Arsen Vartanov, has already managed to win well-deserved love and fame in the circles of Russian car enthusiasts. Looking at their “Eight”, you understand: these guys are crazy about cars, they are lucky that their imagination works so well and their sense of style and the ability to stop on time are perfectly combined. There is nothing superfluous in the appearance of the car; all the details simply fit perfectly into the exterior and create, without exaggeration, a masterpiece body. Why don't they do this at VAZ?
The brothers chose a VAZ 2108, 1996, as the source material for their project. as standard. The start of work on the car did not foretell anything major, it was just a lowering of the suspension, but after that the brothers suddenly had the idea that if they subjected the car to a deeper alteration. Moreover, they had long been nurturing the idea of opening their own tuning studio, and a car like the “Shark” could serve as good advertising for the future enterprise. From that moment on, the degeneration of the old “eight” began. As expected, the technical characteristics of the machine were initially changed. Now under the hood of the car there is a naturally aspirated 1.7 liter engine, which with all the modifications produces 250 horses. The driving characteristics of the G8 were also seriously improved, the wheelbase increased by 12 centimeters, the car began to feel more confident on the road, and cornering became more accurate. According to the increase in dynamics, the braking system was also improved. All 4 wheels are equipped with disc, ventilated brakes and higher quality calipers.
But the main feature of the “Shark” is still its appearance. The guys had a hand in literally everything. The roof was lowered, the front of the car was radically redesigned, and an inexperienced observer would probably not even guess at first glance that this is a G8. New, custom body kits were made from fiberglass, which significantly reduced the weight of the car. The next stage in the construction of the car was a panoramic roof; the brothers often saw it in modern foreign cars, but, unfortunately, the domestic auto industry could not offer anything like that. And to top off the styling of the car, Lambo doors were added. To install them to order, special hinges were created according to drawings found on the Internet. True, the master who took on this work asked not to tell anyone who did it, it was too difficult.
At the moment, work on the “Shark” has not yet been completely completed; the interior of the car is waiting in the wings; according to the guys, it will be as exclusive as the car itself. So far, it has only gone through the stage of complete noise reduction and installation of Porsche seats. The brothers simply physically do not have enough time to finish it, their dream has come true and almost all their energy goes to work at “SCL” - a tuning studio that was opened through the joint efforts of Arsen and Andranik.
