The 1951 Collier's magazine had 132 pages. The text on them was dedicated to how the Third World War would go. Which, naturally, will end with the victory of the forces of good (West) over evil (Russia).
Cover of Colliers magazine.
According to the war scenario from Colliers, the Russians caused chaos in Europe because of Yugoslavia. And then they became so insolent that they dropped a nuclear bomb on Washington. On the spread - Washington after the treacherous attack by the Russians.
The reaction was not long in coming - a bomb was dropped on Moscow.
But this is just the beginning - brave American paratroopers land in Siberia - their goal is to free the unfortunate prisoners.
But Soviet prisoners are not made with fingers. They do not wait for the valiant liberators, but liberate themselves and proclaim their republic. Democratic, of course.
Stalin, meanwhile, dies. His son Vasily takes the reins of government. But he has no choice but to capitulate to the forces of the valiant liberators.
A bit of American humor. The brave G.I. says to the Russian prisoner, “Well, what can you say to yourself as a consolation: they’re lynching someone there in the South?”
Meanwhile, a new life begins in Russia. Free and democratic. The same one that Russians have dreamed about for centuries (what else can Russians dream about, really?).
Russia is finally becoming sufficiently democratic. And Moscow is honored to host the Olympics.
