Lychakiv Cemetery - an open-air museum (18 photos)
Lychakiv Cemetery is a historical and memorial museum-reserve in Lviv, in the historical area of Lychakiv, one of the oldest cemeteries not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe (older than Paris Père Laches and London Highgate). The history of the Lychakiv cemetery begins in 1783, but they say that back in the 15th century, people who died from the plague were buried in its place.

13. Old tombstones give rise to many legends. A striking example of this is the tombstone of Regina Markovskaya, which is called the “sleeping beauty”. According to one of the legends, Regina was a promising young actress who “got too much into her role” on stage, and died when, according to the script of the play, her heroine was supposed to die.
