A short journey through the Al-Ula oasis in Saudi Arabia: palm trees, sandstone cliffs, and ancient facades carved directly into the rock.
In the vicinity of Al-Ula lies Hegra—a monument of the Nabataean civilization with preserved rock-cut tombs. Their decorated facades date from the 1st century BCE to the 1st century CE. In 2008, Hegra became the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in Saudi Arabia.
