Oklahoma City Thunder shooting guard Alex Caruso made the first blocked shot in league history with a shoe. The incident occurred during a regular season NBA game against Orlando.
As a result, he received a technical foul.
"I'd never been in a situation like this before. As soon as I picked up my shoe, the thought occurred to me to use it. I just thought I'd block it, and honestly, I didn't know what the referee would call. I didn't know it would be a goaltending and a technical foul. If I had known, I probably wouldn't have done it because it's three points," Caruso later said.
