Camera traps set up in the Sayano-Shushensky Nature Reserve captured images of snow leopards. The predators delighted the entire area with their vocal range.
Several snow leopards, listed as endangered, were captured on video at various points in the reserve. The predators "sang" for their fellows, producing sounds that were a mixture of a shrill meow and a growl.
Snow leopards, unlike many large cats, cannot roar due to the structure of their larynx. However, they are capable of producing other sounds, such as purring, growling, hissing, and snorting.
