An Elderly Man Runs Marathons While Balancing a Pineapple on His Head (2 photos + 2 videos)
Running a marathon is challenging enough, but this elderly runner made it even more difficult. He runs with a pineapple on his head.
"The Pineapple Runner"
At the Berlin Marathon, 68-year-old (some sources say he's over 70) Moshe Leredfine ran the entire distance with a pineapple on his head. He covered the 42 kilometers in 5 hours and finished with the pineapple on his head.
This man has been lifting the spirits of marathon runners for years. Sometimes, for variety, he runs with a bottle or a flower pot.
The runner himself explains that this is his way of connecting with new people. “I run with a pineapple on my head so people can easily start conversations with me by asking questions. I ran with a bottle for 10 years, and after five years, I was able to run a marathon with a pineapple. People are very interested in the fruit, and I want to bring goodness to everyone. The connection between man and nature, body and mind, is unbreakable. That's why the pineapple doesn't fall off my head—it stays on even at high speeds.”
