A Janitor Found a Newborn in a Trash Can in Brazil and Decided to Adopt Her (3 photos)
Early in the morning in Brazil, workers were removing trash from a bin located on the roads connecting the northern Rio de Janeiro neighborhoods of Quintino and Cascadura. The trip would have ended normally if Samuel Santos had not seen a "doll wrapped in a blanket."
The man planned to give the toy to his daughter because she was beautiful. However, as soon as he touched her, the "doll" began to cry. In the bin, wrapped in a blanket, lay a newborn girl, who had been cruelly abandoned by her mother.
"We named the baby Vitoria... Let's hope they find her family. If they do, I'll visit them no matter what," said another worker named Anderson Nunes, who also worked on the flight.
This is not the first time Santos has visited the baby in the maternity hospital in Brazil, where she is under close supervision. Doctors said that the baby's condition is stable. The man and his wife dream of giving the girl a second life by adopting her, and are already preparing everything necessary for this procedure.
The Santos children are not against the arrival of a new family member: they even prepare a separate room for the baby, buy toys and small pink things.
