In January, Deobra Delone Redden was in court on battery charges. During sentencing, the 31-year-old man jumped over the table and attacked Judge Mary Kay Holthus, 62.
The woman suffered minor injuries, and a week later, the attacker appeared before the judge again, this time wearing a mask and in shackles.
The video of Redden lunging at the judge quickly went viral, and he was dubbed the "flying felon."
On Tuesday, Judge Susan Johnson sentenced him: "I find you guilty of attempted murder, but I take into account your mental health issues."
She called his actions "an attack on the justice system."
The criminal was found guilty on six counts and received 26 years in prison. He was also ordered to pay $61,318.41 in restitution to Mary Kay Holthus.
With time already served, Redden may be eligible for parole in the 2050s.

The convict said: "I don't understand why the government is after me. I've always had problems, since I was a kid. I'm not a bad guy, I'm not an evil person."
In September, Redden pleaded guilty to attempted murder but mentally ill.
Judge Johnson told him: "The doctors have no doubt that you knew the difference between right and wrong."
