The controversy was sparked by a video ad on the website of the Ministry of Tourism in Shenyang, northeast China. 
The video showed Peng Bo, 41, deputy director of the Yuhong County Bureau of Culture and Tourism, talking about rice production in the region. She used filters to virtually “enhance” her face. Chinese residents said such actions undermined public trust in officials.
