Old men managed to steal 22 tons of cheese.
The Drinks Business reported on an unusual theft that took place in London. There, someone managed to steal 22 tons of premium cheddar cheese worth 300 thousand pounds sterling. It was later revealed that a 63-year-old man and his accomplices were involved in the theft. It turned out that the man and his friends took hundreds of boxes from a factory in Southwark, which contained about 22 tons of cheese. And not just any cheese, but expensive cheese. The men posed as suppliers for a wholesale distributor of a major French retailer.

The company said that three popular types of cheese were stolen: Hafod (Welsh cheddar), Westcombe (traditional cheese) and Pitchfork (cheddar made according to ancient recipes). All this cheese is worth a lot of money and takes years to make. The company noted that despite the huge damage, it managed to fulfill all the deliveries, as well as pay for the work of the cheesemakers.
The elderly man who managed to pull off the theft was detained by police, but was later released on bail pending the investigation.
