An abandoned race track has been put up for sale in Australia (9 photos)
In Australia, the Mac's Speedway motorsport complex, which includes a 400-meter dirt oval and associated buildings, has been put up for sale. The race track was estimated at a relatively modest sum - 1.15 million Australian dollars. The fact is that the complex will take a long time to restore.
Mac's Speedway occupies an area of 9.3 hectares and is located 15 minutes' drive from the regional center - the small town of Mackay in Queensland. The overgrown and long-unused racing oval has outbuildings, including an observation tower, garages and residential premises - also abandoned and partially destroyed by fire.
The reason why the current owners do not use the track is not specified, but it is known that attempts to revive the track were stopped last year. It is noteworthy that Mac's Speedway can be considered part of a larger sports complex: a go-kart track and a drag strip are located in the immediate vicinity, but they are not for sale.
