The door to the Lateran Basilica (Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano, Basilica of St. John on the Lateran Hill) is over 2000 years old. The central bronze doors were installed in 1656 by the Italian architect Francesco Borromini. They were moved from the Curia Julia (meeting place of the Roman Senate) to the Roman Forum.
