Speaking at a press conference on the results of Russian diplomacy in 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that “the North Military District has united society in an unprecedented way and contributed to its cleansing of people who did not feel involved in Russian and Russian history and culture.”
In addition, according to Lavrov, Putin never threatened the West with the use of nuclear weapons, and Russia does not refuse negotiations on Ukraine, which are being hampered by the United States and NATO.
Lavrov pointed out that Russia’s closest friends now are the countries of the Middle East: Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar. Another 30 countries, he said, want to join BRICS.
“There is no hope that Russia will be defeated in any way,” Lavrov added.
