This is one of the popular penile implant devices. A small pump is surgically implanted into the scrotum. Two cylinders are inserted into the penis (essentially replacing the corpora cavernosa). Ultimately, the whole thing is a closed system connected to a balloon filled with saline solution, which is located next to the bladder. When the time comes for intercourse, the user squeezes the pump located in his scrotum while the cylinders are filled with saline and his penis becomes erect. When finished, he presses a small button (on the same device) and all the saline solution is drained back into the bulb reservoir near the bladder. The prosthesis lasts about 10-12 years.
