The Boeing 737 was supposed to perform a routine flight from Portland (Oregon) to Ontario (California), but half an hour after takeoff at an altitude of 5 thousand meters, a piece of the fuselage, or rather the emergency exit door, fell off, creating a huge hole in the cabin. There were 174 passengers and 6 crew members on board.
By a happy coincidence, the passenger seat next to the hole was unoccupied.
The plane was rushed back to Portland and landed safely, with no injuries reported at this time. But passengers will be left with impressions for life.
"Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 from Portland, Oregon to Ontario, California experienced an incident this evening shortly after takeoff," the company said in a statement.
