A street surveillance camera installed on the territory of the Karasaari gardening partnership in the Vsevolozhsk district of the Leningrad region captured a family of wild boars.
16 well-fed wild boars were caught on camera in the Leningrad region.
A surveillance camera captured the adventures of a group of striped piglets. As many as 16 wild boars run around in search of adventure throughout the territory of SNT Karasaari. Eyewitnesses report that these comrades were also seen the day before in the village of Novye Oselki.
As the Northwestern Department of Rosprirodnadzor said, snow cover has formed in the region, and the fields where crops were grown no longer attract animals. Experts believe that municipal waste left nearby could have provoked the wild boars to come out to people: wild boars have a keenly developed sense of smell, and the animals could have come out following the corresponding smell.
"Over the course of two autumn months, the animals have formed a layer of fat, which allows them to protect themselves from the cold. It cannot be said that wild boars are now very hungry and there are no food sources in the forest, but, as a rule, they will not neglect the waste left behind, since it is easy prey , which does not require large amounts of energy,” the department noted.
Wild boars are active mainly at night. A wild boar can pose a danger to humans, so you should not approach the animal if it is spotted in your summer cottage. It is also prohibited to feed the animal and approach sick and dead animals. An animal can rush when it is wounded or irritated by surrounding factors. You cannot tease the animal and try to drive it away by throwing stones or sticks at the animal.
