Anti-migrant protests took place in Dublin after an Algerian attacked a group of children (1 photo + 9 videos)

Demonstrators burned police cars and attacked law enforcement officers. Local law enforcement officers believe that the riots were provoked.

Yesterday, November 23, near Parnell Square in north Dublin, a dark man with a knife attacked a group of children. First he attacked a woman with a five-year-old child, then wounded two more children. The incident occurred near the Gaelscoil Choláiste educational institution.

According to police, the attacker acted alone. They managed to detain him. After this, riots began in the city. A group of protesters set fire to one of the patrol cars, began firing flares and fireworks towards the law enforcement officers, shouting anti-migrant slogans. Afterwards, other cars and buses were set on fire.

The Holiday Inn Express hotel in Dublin was also attacked.

And then those gathered began to destroy buildings and loot. Rioters raided Arnott's department store on Henry Street and looted the Foot Locker store on O'Connell Street. They threw bottles at shop windows, which, however, were also broken with metal bars.

And everything that was happening no longer looked like a protest action.

Police Commissioner Drew Harris called the looters a completely deranged far-right group who took advantage of the situation for their own dirty deeds. He called on them to calm down and go home so that law enforcement could conduct the investigation properly.

According to the Irish Independent, police forces were used to suppress the looters, but not the army, as reported in a number of media outlets.

Justice Minister Helen McEntee said all protesters who distinguished themselves that evening would be found and punished. They have nothing to do with the demonstrators - those are peaceful, and these are just thugs and criminals whose goal is to wreak havoc.

There are currently 5 people in the hospital. Three of them are wounded children. One of the girls is in critical condition, she was wounded in the neck by the perpetrator. Among those hospitalized is the attacker himself. There is no information about his condition. The police are also not disclosing the identity of the perpetrator. It is known that this is a 40-year-old man. He is a former migrant but has lived in Ireland for many years and has Irish citizenship. The motives for his behavior are unknown.

"The riots in Dublin because of a migrant who cut children and a woman are bullshit. Firstly, the migrant turned out to be a naturalized man who had lived half his life in Ireland, with an Irish passport. Secondly, the riots were light and cheerful - a lot of noise, broken glass and no casualties.

But it's a teaser of what's inevitably to come across Europe. And then it won't be so funny anymore. The pendulum has reached the far left point and is now swinging back. The time of the left, open borders, proud fagots, the creative class, Greta Thunberg, the generation of co-working spaces and coffee breaks is slowly ending. And a completely different time begins,” the media write, and it’s hard to disagree with this.
