In the USA, an engineer was checking the servers, and his cat jumped onto the keyboard and erased all the data (3 photos)
Because of this, the work of the state medical center stopped for 4 hours.
The state of Missouri has a medical center for the treatment of veterans. And an unlucky technician works there, who for some reason drags his cat to work. Well, or sheltered the furry one there on a permanent basis. This citizen was checking the configuration of the medical center’s server cluster, at which time the cat got bored.
And he jumped on the keyboard.
As a result, I deleted all system settings, including the current cluster configuration. So the entire IT system went down for 4 hours. Network engineers had to work hard, but the data was restored. They even stated that they had taken additional measures to protect against cats - I wonder what?
The technician, of course, received his due, but the main “extreme” was made by the IT director of the US government department - he oversaw this medical center. He was called “on the carpet” and demanded an explanation.
Afterwards, the Chief Information Officer of the Department of Veterans Affairs said, “That’s why I have a dog.”
