The plane stalled: passengers on the Sochi-Moscow flight spent more than three hours in the plane without air conditioning
But the plane never took off. Several people lost consciousness due to the heat.
About 440 passengers traveling from Sochi to Moscow on a Boeing of the Nordwind company were locked in the aircraft cabin for more than three hours in 30-degree heat without working air conditioners.
The plane was supposed to take off from Sochi airport at 12:25 Moscow time, but never took off. To the questions of the passengers who began to suffocate in the stuffiness, the confused flight attendants answered that the plane was about to depart, but did not name the reason for the delay.
The situation on the plane after several hours of waiting
It is noteworthy that the plane's doors were closed. After several hours of waiting, elderly passengers began to faint. Only after this did the flight attendants open the door, but there was no ladder in front of it, which did not meet safety standards. Many people began to demand to be let off the plane, they were not even stopped by the fact that they could lose money for the ticket, which the flight attendants warned them about. As a result, the latter had an excuse that the plane was delayed not only due to technical reasons, but also because of passengers who decided to leave the cabin, whose suitcases are now being searched in the luggage compartment.
As it turned out later, the pilots twice failed to start the plane’s engines and hoped that the technicians would quickly solve the problem, and then for some reason began to mislead the passengers, trying to leave them on board. However, after three hours, the patience of the last remaining passengers ran out and they left the liner. They are not given their money back and are offered to return or exchange their ticket for a plane with another airline.
Russians often have problems with planes from unfriendly countries.
