Charming meerkats were born in a Scottish safari park (4 photos + 2 videos)

Basta, Missy and Emmy (derived from Eminem) were born in Blair Drummond Safari Park near Stirling, Scotland. The adorable cubs were named after popular rap artists. By the way, the parents of meerkats are called Cardi B and Biggie.





These are the first meerkats born in Blair Drummond Park in five years.

"As the cubs explore the world around us, we see that every day they become more confident," says Carolyn Booth, safari park manager.



These animals are highly organized, they unite in colonies. Pregnancy of females lasts 2.5 months, offspring are born in a hole, away from predators. The first 10 days the cubs are blind, deaf and almost bald.

By the age of three weeks, the cubs begin to emerge from the hole.

Then, at four to six weeks of age, they begin tasting solid foods, which is an important step on the way to independent life.





And by sixteen weeks, meerkats turn into independent individuals.

"Our cubs came out of the burrow on August 11, so they are a little More than a month. For weeks we've been hearing squeaks from the hole so we were looking forward to meeting," Booth explained.



Blair Drummond Safari Park is an animal sanctuary in including endangered ones. in care more than 300 employees.
