How much they talk about the consequences of "communication" with the hogweed, but things are still there.
A resident of St. Petersburg tweeted her history. She was walking in the surrounding field and saw a plant that recognized as rhubarb.
Remembering my childhood, I wanted to try it. "Rhubarb" turned out to be bitter and, as they say, did not go. Spit out the grass, girl After a while I didn't feel well. On hands and face burns appeared. Then she called an ambulance, the doctors of which told about her walk and trying to eat a field plant.
Hogweed victim explains that she mixed up the plants, because that, according to her, rhubarb and cow parsnip are similar before flowering. Apparently a girl I remembered that rhubarb has thick petioles - it is they who are eaten, in including raw. In young plants of hogweed, leaf petioles somewhat similar, but leaf blades are still different.
Left - rhubarb, right - hogweed
“Cow parsnip does not immediately grow with umbrellas. took a bite and threw it away, the juice remained on my hands, and I touched my face with my hands under the sun. After that, she called an ambulance, the doctor only asked whether the cow parsnip was tasty, nothing more. There were no symptoms, smeared panthenol, avoided contact with the sun, wore a mask. pain especially was not, only when she opened her mouth. I used to eat rhubarb in the village, when I was little,” she said.
According to the victim, now she feels well.
There are still burn marks on her face and the wearer Twitter hopes they will disappear soon. Possibly soon she will refrain from the temptation to taste unfamiliar plants in the fields (but it's not accurate).
