Over the centuries, countless architectural masterpieces that mankind was lucky to see. Alas, many of them have not survived to this day, and all that we have left in the memory of their former greatness - ruins and old photographs.
1. House on a hill in San Francisco, 1896-1907
2. Salzhaus and Frauenstein house in Frankfurt, built around 1600. Both destroyed in 1944 during an RAF raid Great Britain
3. St. Peter's Hospital, Bristol, England. Built at the end 14th century as a merchant's house, destroyed during the Bristol Blitz in 1940 year
4. Neue-Elbbrücke Bridge, 1887-1959, Hamburg, Germany. The bridge survived, but the towers were removed during the expansion of the bridge
5. Los Angeles in 1918 None of this has survived to this day.
6. Cathedral of Christ the Savior in the village of Borki near Kharkov, 1894. Destroyed during the Great Patriotic War
7. Baths of Diocletian, 298 AD A couple of walls survived and are still impressive
8. Graham House, West Vancouver, Canada. Designed by Arthur Erickson in 1962, demolished in 2007
9. Pennsylvania Station, New York, 1910
10. Park Hotel Bremen, Germany. Built in 1890, burned down in 1907.
11. The ancient Egyptian fortress of Buhen was built around 1860 BC and stood until the construction of the Aswan Dam in 1964 year
12. Helmond, Netherlands (replaced by a large apartment building in 2019)
13. Park Avenue Hotel at the intersection of 32nd Street and Park Avenue in New York, photographed in 1905. Opened in 1878, demolished in 1925
14. Sioux City Corn Palace, Iowa, 1890
From 1887 to 1891, the townspeople celebrated the fall harvest. the construction of a large building called the Corn Palace, covered with corn and other cereals.
15. Old Times Square, 1904
16. Ferry Swinoujscie/ Swinemünde, Poland (formerly Germany). Existed between the 1890s and 1920s
17. Notre Dame de Paris, 2018 (base of the spire, view from the southwest)
18. National Palace of Haiti, 1912-2010, was damaged by the 2010 Haiti earthquake and demolished in 2012
19. Digital reconstruction of the old St. Paul's Cathedral, located in London. Built in 1314, destroyed during Great Fire of London 1666
20. Zaragoza Leaning Tower Torre Nueva ("New Tower"). 1504-1892
21. Terrace Park, Duluth, Minnesota. Built in 1890, demolished in 1936
22. Church in La Jalca, Peru. Built in 1538, destroyed by an earthquake in 2021
23 Trebushino House, Digbeth, Birmingham, UK (1533-1893)
24. Galloway's furniture store, Sarasota, Florida. Designed by Victor Lundy in 1959, partially demolished in the 1970s
25. Palace of Industry, Amsterdam. Built in 1864, burned down in 1929
26. Pennsylvania Station in 1963, shortly before demolition
27. Steele High School, Dayton, Ohio. Built in 1894, demolished for parking in 1955
28. Everything in this photo was destroyed - Skopje, North Macedonia, before the 1963 earthquake
29. Hotel Saratoga in Havana, Cuba. Destroyed by gas explosion
30. Beach Hotel, Galveston, Texas. Built in 1882 and destroyed in a mysterious fire in 1898
