Since the city is under occupation, restoring the museum and saving the surviving frescoes is out of the question.
This house is known for its unique frescoes, which the master decorated the walls with. Now the drawings are under the threat of destruction.
Polina Raiko was a self-taught artist who worked in the genre of naive art. She began painting at the age of 69 without any art education. Raiko passed away in January 2004 at the age of 76.
