True, with charming prehistoric cartoon characters and their house similarity is only external. The building from Portugal is not so old as it seems at first glance: he is less than a hundred years old. 
Unusual house in the north of Portugal was named Casa do Penedo (Casa do Penedo), which literally translates as "stone house" or "rock house". It was built in the early seventies of the last century, an architect from the city of Guimarães worked on the project. 
The house was made from several boulders found nearby. Thanks to these giant stones, the building harmoniously blended into natural landscape, it seems as if it has stood here for centuries. 
There is no lighting in Casa do Penedo, although there are nearby windmills. Perhaps on stone walls and the absence of light the similarity of the house with the dwelling place of ancient people ends. 
In all other respects, the two-story Casa do Penedo is quite comfortable for living: on the ground floor there is a kitchen and a living room, and on the second - bedrooms. All rooms in the house are of unusual shapes, which adapted to the rock. The house is furnished in a rustic style, all the furniture is made of wood and concrete. 
Casa do Penedo even has a swimming pool, which is also inscribed in the surrounding landscape: it is irregular in shape, and the bottom and part of the walls are local breed. 
In general, the building was built for a local family as houses outside the city, but no one has lived in it for many years. His appearance was so unusual that the Casa do Penedo regularly appeared guests. Someone just took pictures against the backdrop of a stone house, there were those who tried to get inside. 
So the country estate could not provide the owners what they dreamed of: a relaxing holiday in the bosom of nature. Eventually Casa do Penedo has been turned into a museum that tells about his construction.
