In just a few days, the Berlin-based Narra studio and the Bereg cooperative of independent journalists will release the first detailed biography of the most famous Soviet and Russian activist. The author and director of the film, Igor Sadreev, while working on the film, got access to the criminal cases of Valeria Novodvorskaya, which no one had seen before, and also studied her interviews, memoirs and letters - and talked with associates and friends of Novodvorskaya.
Activism has always been at the center of Valeria Novodvorskaya's biography, but the film The White Coat also explores the non-public image of the activist, which has remained behind the scenes all these years. Meduza publishes the trailer for the film The White Coat — about fearlessness, sacrifice, loneliness — and about the amazing prophecies of Valeria Novodvorskaya, who predicted the coming dictatorship, the restoration of the Soviet system, and war.
