Confrontation of two dogs with a wolf pack in Italy
Two curious dogs, the Maremmo-Abruzzo Sheepdog breed, in mid-March of this year, had the imprudence to approach a pack of wolves, numbering eight individuals, in the national park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise.
A truly amazing video was filmed by zoologist Paolo Forconi. Footage of a dramatic confrontation shows the meeting of two male Abruzzo sheepdogs with a pack of wolves.
According to the author of the video, the self-control and composure inherent in this breed of dogs saved the lives of two four-legged thrill-seekers who rushed to the smell of prey and were not aware of, to put it mildly, the riskiness of their campaign.
As Paolo Forconi wrote in a commentary on the plot, the shepherds twice intended to deprive the gray hunters of their prey, but both times they were expelled and ultimately left the "trophy" to the predators.
