But instead of taking the sofa to the right place, movers they barricaded the stairs tightly to them. “When they arrived, I showed them a room on the second floor, where it was necessary to bring the sofa, - says the man. - I turned them attention to the fact that the stairs are narrow, but they assured me that all the time make deliveries and carry furniture in close quarters. I said, "Yes, you experts" - after all, this is a furniture delivery company, so I just gave them a scope of work. They brought the couch, with all their might tried to throw him over the railing and, in the end, put him on ladder. But then it jammed and they couldn't raise or lower it. his".

"Then they said, 'We need to get back to Birmingham,' and they tried leave, - continues his story Ansell. - They asked me to sign in delivery, but I refused. We had an argument about this, and then they offered me to cut the railing to get the sofa. it brand new house that we just bought for half a million and Now I have to fix it."

The furniture company, in turn, replied that the ordered sofa cost Ansell £1,129.45 including cost delivery, and that two delivery drivers had warned Ansell that there would be “it is very difficult to lift a sofa to the second floor without causing any damage no couch, no real estate.”

According to the company, the delivery driver said that Ansell agreed to the risk involved, as clearly stated in the contract. As say the furniture makers, their "responsibility ends when the furniture reaches the threshold of the house", but they "try to help deliver the furniture to room of choice at owner's risk.

However, the company agreed to "objectively recognize that our the delivery team caused damage to both the sofa and your property." The firm promised to provide Mr. Ansell with a new sofa without additional payment, while the delivery team will bring him personal apologies. The company also promised to pay for any damage caused property. However, next time, furniture makers warn, they will be able to offer Ansell only door-to-door delivery.
