The world's most expensive house worth $ 2 billion: cool and pointless (4 photos + 1 video)

Here is Antilia, the most expensive private house in the world. Nestled amongst other billionaire homes in Mumbai, India, it stands approximately 2 billion dollars and equipped with amenities that were not dreamed of even the most spoiled Bond villains. The house belongs to the second Asia's richest man, Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani, who lives there with his family.

The construction of Antilia began in 2006 with the project of two American architectural firms whose work on the Mandarin Oriental in New York greatly impressed Ambani's wife, Nita Dalal Ambani. Project in ended up over budgeting 1.2 billion and costing Ambani about 2 billion dollars.

Antilia is considered by some to be the world's tallest home to one family, but not if you do not take into account the space for 600 servants. The building itself has 27 floors, each with very high ceilings, making it equivalent to a 60-story skyscraper. Nine high-speed elevators allow residents to move quickly through this giant.

The house has six floors of underground parking, accommodating 168 vehicles, and three helicopter landing pads (although they are not I work because I'm not certified). Of course, in a mega-mansion included home theater, banquet hall, gym, swimming pool and full spa; but the "winter room" with artificial snow - quite a unique addition. Top six floors Ambani family uses as a private living area for himself. Interestingly, the building withstand a magnitude 8 earthquake.

Mukesh Ambani is Chairman and Managing Director Reliance Industries Limited and its net worth is 85 billion dollars, which provided him with the ninth line in the list of the most rich people of the world.

The concept of such a mansion alone is enough to anger those who believe the money and effort should have been directed for something useful. But with Antilia, the situation is even more acute - before construction Antilia, this piece of land since 1895 was intended to accommodate shelter. Ambani's purchase of land was legally controversial vision and challenged in court. Many strongly opposed Antilia, considering her a simple example of the neglect of poverty in India. By In the words of the former chairman of the Tata Group, Ratan Tata: “A person who lives there, must worry about what he sees around him, and ask yourself how he can make a difference. If he can't, then this is sad, because this country needs people who will distribute part of his vast wealth to find ways to alleviate suffering people... That's what revolutions are made of.
