A piglet jumped out of a truck and changed his life (9 photos + 1 video)
A truck with a huge trailer full of live goods was gathering dust across the expanses of Western Australia. Hundreds of pigs were transported from the farm to the slaughterhouse, among which was a 4-month-old piglet named Wombat. But it would be called that much later, and at that moment the motorists driving behind watched in surprise and fear as the reckless pig squeezed through the gap and jumped onto the road from the height of a two-story building. But that was just the beginning of the story.
If Wombat had stayed in the truck, he would have definitely become a stew or a steak, but the leap into the unknown did not bode well for the little pig. In fact, if it weren’t for random witnesses to the desperate escape, they are also Wombat’s saviors, he would not have survived. The pig suffered a crack in the skull, his eye was damaged and internal bleeding began from the impact on the hard ground. The veterinarians at the shelter, where compassionate people took the piglet, simply threw up their hands - the chances of survival are slim.
But Wombat survived one night, then another, and then began to gain weight. The piglet not only survived, he seemed to realize that now nothing threatened him and enjoyed life with all his might. Piggy was transferred to Greener Pastures Sanctuary, a large farm for similar rescued animals, where he soon met Freckles. An ordinary pig that was sold as a "mini pig" and the former owner starved the animal to stop its growth. But now Wombat and Freckle are in no danger.
The wombat himself has learned to be grateful - he loves to greet guests, especially the elderly and young. The pig can grunt in different ways, exposes its belly to be scratched, comically begs for goodies and allows children to play with it like a big soft toy. The crooked scar on his muzzle still reminds me of that jump into nowhere. He knows that he has a chance to be happy, and he takes full advantage of this opportunity.
