The rhesus macaque is a species of macaque that is the best known of all the species in its genus. These are quite large, dense animals, with a dull greenish-yellowish coat color. The face, ears and hands are pale meat color.
The most prosperous and widespread species of primates in the world: found in Pakistan, India, in the Himalayas from Nepal to Northern Burma.
In 2016, it was reported that a rhesus monkey near the Indian city of Erode had adopted a stray puppy. She protected him like her child from other dogs, and did not leave him for a second. The macaque tried to replace the puppy's mother. Watching this spectacle is a pleasure!
