The series tells about the restless family of the owner of the pharmacy, Lourdes Cano. Her sons Quique and Guillermo, ex-husband Adolfo Segura, daddy Don Enrique Cano constantly find themselves in various funny situations, from which everyone helps them get out of them: employees Lourdes - Pili and Reyes, friends Catalina and Begonia, neighbors Doña Paquita, Mariquilla, Sandra and even law enforcement officers Sergeant Romerales and Maria de la Encarnacion.
Concha Cuetos, role - Lourdes
Born on January 17, 1944 in Madrid.
Until the age of 15 she lived in Tangier (Morocco), where her father worked. In the early 60s she began acting in television productions in small roles.
Her first big success came in 1986 with the series “Tristeza de amor” (“The Sadness of Love”). In 1991, she was invited to the television project “Pharmacia on Duty” (“Farmacia de guardia”) for the role of Lourdes Cano. For 4 years, the series was a dizzying success and received many awards.
Carlos Larrañaga (March 11, 1937 - August 30, 2012), role - Adolfo, ex-husband of Lourdes
At the age of four he made his screen debut in Ignacio Iquino's film Alma de Dios. While still very young, he played in the theater and on television in Cuba, where he settled with his parents. Upon returning to Spain, he began acting in films, mainly in roles that exploited his attractiveness. In addition, he worked a lot in the theater and on television.
In 1950, he starred in the film Peque?eces by Juan de Orduña, and in 1957 in the American film The Pride and the Passion, starring Cary Grant, Sophia Loren and Frank Sinatra. Among further films, “Ha llegado un angel” (1961) by Luis Lucia and “Las verdes praderas” (1979) by José Luis Garci are notable. Garci directed Larrañaga in his other films: “Tiovivo c. 1950" (2004), "Sunday Light" (2007), for which Larrañaga was nominated for a Goya Award, and "Blood of May" (2008).
Larrañaga played his most prominent roles on stage in the plays “La cornada” (1960) by Alfonso Sastre, “Tengo un mill?n” (1960) by Victor Ruiz Irarte and “La tercera palabra” (1966) by Alejandro Casona.
His main works on television were the series “Los gozos y las sombras” (1982) and the series “Pharmacy on Duty” (1991-95), where he, along with Concha Cuetos, played one of the main roles. In 2010, he played the same role of Adolfo Segura in the feature film “Pharmacy on Duty. Last duty” dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the series.
Larrañaga suffered a stroke in 2010. On January 9, 2012, he underwent surgery for a tumor in the ureter. On August 20 of the same year, he was placed in the intensive care unit with a diagnosis of heart failure and died on the evening of August 30
